hmmm, I'm looking at both my windows xp and vista machine. my windows picture and fax viewer on xp doesn't have any kind of history on it, just the very basic viewer... on vista it's the photo gallery.

So I'm curious what version of P&F viewer that is. Anyway, you should have an option to not keep the history in preferences for that version. Turn it off and you shouldn't see the history any more. The thumbnails and images will still be stored in your temporary history directories... so if you want to get rid of them, you need to find them and delete them.

Sadly they're much to small to use as stakes. And the only way to remove this patch by digging it up would be to enlist the help of a backhoe which isn't an option right now. The best alternative I've found that doesn't involve poison is segregating the bamboo you want to kill from the main clump (which is on my neighbor's property) at the root level and then cutting the bamboo down like grass every few months. Eventually it uses the energy stored in the rhizomes and won't grow back (which is why segregating it from the rhizomes of the main clump is so important).

I use regular olive for pretty much everything. Peanut if I need high temps, and extra virgin olive if I want the flavor.
